Hold onto your plate of shepherd’s pie and bowl full of rumbledethumps South Florida. There is an Arizona-based, Celtic restaurant franchise coming to the area and they’ll be bringing more than just bagpipes with them. The restaurant franchise in question is the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, and hearing about it has sent some folks flocking to auctions in Fort Lauderdale.
For those of you that may be unfamiliar with the Celtic restaurant chain, it’s famous for its scantily clad and plaid, kilt wearing wait staff. Plus, it’s been in the news many times, including on a 2012 episode of the hit TV show, Undercover Boss. Of course the wait staff and consistent media coverage isn’t all that the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery franchise is known for. They also make pretty darn good food. As you might have guessed, the menus at each of the restaurants feature a mix of classic Celtic and American grub, like Dublin Irish stew and barbecue chicken wings.
That said, according to the Phoenix Business Journal’s own Emon Reiser, the company has plans to open at least three new restaurants in the Sunshine State. The three spots on tap include Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Davie. And that has more than a few restaurateurs thinking about either upgrading their venues to compete with the chain head on or relocating their restaurants to other, less congested areas.
Because of that, we thoroughly expect to see a lot of activity at our auctions in Fort Lauderdale, Miami and other Florida locations in the months ahead. After all, our auctions have come to be known as the place to go when shopping for bar, restaurant and pizzeria equipment.
